Silver Warehou has a thick fillet of white flesh with very few bones. The meat has a relatively high fat content, adding to the flavour packed taste.
The Silver Warehou is suitable for all methods of cooking, and its strong flavour makes it ideal for fish cakes. It is also very suitable for marinating and also often used deep fried for fish & chips.
The Silver Warehou is a bottom-dwelling marine fish found off the southeastern coast of Australia and the southern coast of New Zealand from around 400-600m deep. It is mainly caughtt using bottom trawlers.
